Well..

I wrote my last post Friday as we were driving to the pediatrician's office. I mean what else do you do when your in the car from Klein to the medical center? Write a blog? That's what most new mommies do? Garrett talks on his phone about concrete and cranes and other things that blow my mind. Jax sleeps to hum of the vibrations of the car and sound of great music played on the Highway, my favorite station on Sirius Radio.
We were headed there because Jax hadn't been quite right for the last week. His feedings weren't going great, he wasn't using the bathroom great, he just wasn't feeling great. I had an inclination that he was suffering from Pyloric Stenosis, the same as his sister when she was 5 weeks old. Friday morning at 7am when he proceeded to vomit an entire undigested bottle all over me and my bed, his bed, 3 outfits, and his changing table I knew it was time to make some calls. We left the house at about 10:30. Dr. Don Schaffer, who treated Kenley as well, trusted my instincts and sent us immediately toTexas  Children's Hospital for an ultrasound. That was completed around 1:30 or so where it was confirmed that Jaxon had pyloric stenosis and would need surgery. The process was started. We had been through the same thing with Kenley, so the stress was significantly less, but still
not easy to watch your one month old have an IV put in his little arm. Jaxon had not eaten since 7 am. I had him the moby wrap and literally walked the halls of Texas Children's with him strapped to my body. He was a trooper. I am so grateful to Karrie Looney and the Kellerman family for that little jewel! Who knew my Moby Wrap would be soo handy!! My body ached when I got home that night! They were trying to do the surgery Friday night, but he was too dehydrated, so Saturday morning was the best they could do, he would have to spend a night on IV fluids. We made it to the NICU at about 7pm. We had a wonderful nurse named Eden, who was the most caring and gentle woman. She was going to do anything in her power to keep him comfortable through the night as he was STARVING!!! We left about 9pm, and we were confident he was in excellent hands! We stayed in the motor home in the parking lot of Baker Concrete, so we were 10 minutes away from him. We had to be at the hospital at 6am for surgery.
His surgery was Saturday at 7:30 am. Everything went well. He spent most of Saturday extremely sedated and did pretty well with his feedings of pedialyte. He had to have his IV redone 2 more times, thankfully my Dad and Garrett stayed with him through that, as I couldn't watch another IV be put into my baby, much less 2 more!
He was finally able to start having formula early Sunday morning, while thankfully Eden was taking care of him again. When arrived at the hospital Sunday morning at 10am, he was ready to go home!! We were elated!
He slept under our patio most of the afternoon while Kenley and Spencer played! He loves to be outside already, just like sister. All his grandparents, Aunt Kendra and Julie came to visit. And we had dinner celebrating Grampa Gary's birthday and his arrival home. Daddy replaced 2 outdoor light fixtures to burn off steam! He was a little stressed!
His first night home he slept from 10:30 until 3:50!!! And then got up at 7:50! All in all I would say the surgery was a success!
Kenley still got to run in Trinity's first annual Graffiti Fun run with Grampa. She even got to spend a night with us in the motor home which is her favorite thing to do!
