Blessed beyond measure

Some of my fondest memories growing up were with my Grandpa. He was a towering man at 6 foot 6 inches. He had a loud voice he told you as he saw it. He was always an usher at church and greeted people when they came in and handed out bulletins. My parents both worked and many days he picked me up from school. He took me to get hamburgers, his favorite resturaunt was Luby's...but the one on 1-10 and like Normandy? He liked to take you to the San Jacinto Monument, it was a very interesting place don't you know? He was retired from Nabisco by the time I remember, so he spent quite a bit of time at Lake Murvaul in solitude...one can guess why. However, when he was here in town he spent a significant amount of time with me! For this I am greatful. I find myself telling Kenley stories about different things he used to do. I can still remember the way he smelled, the time he woke up everyday, and the song he sang when he woke up...it wasn't English, the woven cross that hung from the knob on his radio in his suburban there are just things you will never forget. She will always reply something about one of her Grandparents, she talks about Papa's singing, how Grammy is always HOT!! And Grandpa is always on the phone!! I tell her, yes these are the memories you'll carry with you just like I do of my Grandpa.
A week like this week, when I'm plagued with the FLU, and Garrett is swamped at work...we are driving to a cheer party all a little frazzled, stretched too thin came to conclusion with Garrett and I discussing how thankful we are to have these Grandparents! A semi-retired Grammy that can come in and spend 2 nights and take Kenley to school and cheer. A semi-retired Papa that can come in take Kenley to her dentist appointment. Grandparents that show up to cheer competitions, cheer practices, cheer private lessons. Grandparents that volunteer at school or come and pick Kenley up from school just because.
So during this holiday season and always we want to let everybody know how blessed we are, how blessed Kenley is and how blessed Jaxon will be and how much we love and appreciate our Grandparents!! Memories are being forever burned into Kenley's mind even if you don't even know it, she tells us and they will last her a lifetime!
We love you and are so thankful for you all!

Jax

Time to talk about Jax...
There are the things you hear...girls are high, boys are low. I know really not a lot about this, except Granny said "Wendy, that baby is very low" some cheer moms have said that's definitely a boy, your all belly...blah blah.
Here's what I can tell you about my boy! Kenley was quiet. She rarely kicked. It would take hours for Garrett to feel her kick or move, and then the movement would be small and not that thrilling! Jax is, on the other hand, a mover and a shaker. Last night I was tossing and turning. Garrett came over and was trying to comfort me. He put his hands on my belly and Jax starting punching and kicking. Garrett was half asleep and he looked up and said "wow" this continued for 10-15 minutes. The baby just punching and kicking Garrett and Garrett acknowledging every move. Garrett finally says...this is what it's like?? I said yes! With him? Everynight!!! He is like this everynight!
I envision with strong legs and strong arms and a strong will.
Love you sweet boy!!
23 weeks!!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving week. We had a cheer competition to start the week off, we got second place! The girls are working so hard!! Kenley went home with Grammy & Grandpa until Tuesday. She even got some snow at Lake Conroe while she was there.
Wednesday Kenley got her first tooth pulled and we went to the Alamo Draft House to see Disney's FROZEN, what an absolutely cute show!! We all had a great time having a nice quiet dinner in the movie theatre, it was our first experience there.
We spent Thursday with my parents, Granny, Mark & Kendra here in Houston. We usually spend it at Lake Murval. However, Somer & Mike got married on Saturday and we all needed to be at the wedding and so a trip to the Lake did not fit in, but a wedding of two special people was one huge reason to stay in town and be thankful.
We ate turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, squash casserole, corn on the cob, rolls...Pecan Pie and Kendra's NOW famous sausage balls.

It is a special time. Our last Thanksgiving without 2 children. I can remember every Thanksgiving since Kenley was born....

2013Thanksgiving spent with Papa & Nana and a Fancy Car!

2012 spent mowing grass at Lake Murval!

Thanksgiving 2010 was spent between Lake Murval and Lake Conroe
