It has been a crazy world wind circus since Christmas in the Benson house hold! We went into the Christmas season knowing we were going to put our house on the market. We knew we wanted to move Kenley to Trinity Klein and knew we had to move to the Spring-Klein area. We priced our house on the high end of the price range expecting it to be on the market for a while thinking we would have until January until at least June to sell it and find a new home. Garrett and I spent 1 week cleaning the house and preparing it to go on the market. We left on New Years Eve to celebrate in Galveston with Somer and Mike and Gary and Cassi. Once we returned the Realtor, Dave Frost, called and said somebody wanted to see the house. We still had the middle bedroom stacked with misc. stuff that needed to be hauled to Gary and Cassi's...we quickly loaded it up and left. That was all she wrote...they wrote us a contract which we accepted...we sold it! At this point they told us we need to be out by Jan. 27th! That gave us not 1 weekend to pack and move because Miss Kenley had cheer competitions ever weekend in between the option period and the sale! In the middle of all this I got a staph infection and was basically useless! My brother-in-law to be Mark and Wilmer helped Garrett do everything! So at this point our stuff has been in storage and in the garage at my in-laws and we have been living at my in-laws since Jan. 25th.

We said goodbye to 4415 Rosebay the place we brought Kenley home from the hospital and the place she learned how to walk and talk and it there were a lot of memories. However, it is so time for us to start over. A lot of family unit lines were crossed at Rosebay and we are soooo happy to start over at our new home and keep our family unit tight and make this all about Garrett, Wendy and Kenley. Once we said goodbye to Rosebay, we had a new challenge of finding a new home! Boy this was hard! It took a while. We had made a decision that we would not make a purchase on any house we both did not agree with completely...so we did make a contract on something and thank God that did not work out.
In between all this Rodeo happened and Kenley went to Montana for 8 days, there was a huge meltdown at my work, Kenley won a National Championship...now that is what we need to talk about!
You all know that Kenley has been cheerleading for 2 years now and it is a big, HUGE part of this family!!! We are in practice about 4 times per week! She is dedicated and so are we as a family. Her team the Texas Teeny Tinys (Texas Cheer Tiny Level 1) had been battling all year for 1st place with Woodlands Elite and Prodigy. We won 1st place twice and they would win and it would just rotate and you would just never know. If we did not get 1st we got 2nd, I think with the exception for the very first competition. NCA competition rolled around and that is the "Superbowl of Cheerleading" Karrie, Jason and Emma Looney, Cannon and Melinda came out to see her compete. Of course her Daddy and I were there. The Tiny's competed on Saturday, we left and were in 3rd place, not where we wanted to be. Our coach called a practice that Saturday night. The girls were so determined they practiced so hard...the next day they put the best performance we had ever seen...and they won!!! They moved from 3rd to 1st!!!!
We are now preparing to move into our new home...after we return to Kendra and Mark's wedding in the Bahamas.
Somer is expecting a baby in June. We are so excited and happy. Melinda and Cannon are getting married in September so the show will keep moving on! Kenley moved up to Mini 1 on Texas Cheer. It will be a grueling year and working hard!
