WOW! That is all I can say it has been a busy busy week and weekend. Garrett left town last Monday and returned on Friday night super late. Cole left me early Wednesday. He had to be at Hobby airport at 6am...I could not even imagine how I was going to manage that. Thanks to my wonderful loving father-in-law he got there, Gary was ringing our doorbell at 5:30 am. I did yell that if Kenley woke up I was going to put her in the car with him, sorry Gary, that was rude! Kenley and I occupied our time together by preparing for the garage sale we were having on Saturday. On Thursday we did take a break and go eat with my two favorite Duffy sisters on Thursday.
Saturday's garage sale was a huge success. I could not unload stuff fast enough before people were buying it out of the Tahoe. We were finished by 2, as if I wasn't tired enough Kenley and I went to the car wash. I vacuumed and washed the car. We returned home to finish up the car and get ready to head to the Boil-B-Que! Crawfish, beer, moon walks, and PaPa's truck were entertaining for all involved. We then hauled our cookies across town from Tomball to pick up Cole. I missed him so much while he was gone. He wasn't "allowed" to use his phone while he was gone so I only got to text him at night! The first thing he wanted, as usual, was Whataburger. I was SO SO tired I could not even see straight. The Neal brothers came over to visit. Snow was suppose to come but couldn't because she is the best dog sitter ever! I missed her and really wanted to see here but I was able to go to sleep.
I had a wonderful Mother's Day. Many of you know that every mother's day since Kenley has been traumatic. My first mother's day preceded Kenley's surgery at 5 weeks of age for pyloric stenosis. My second Mother's Day was spent having my appendix removed. I am happy to say that this one was event free!!!! Cole got me a beautiful necklace and Garrett and Kenley got me a new watch. They took me to eat at the Cheesecake Factory!
Garrett and I are starting to watch Parenthood together. It is hilarious. I started watching it while he was away. He is hooked so is catching up on the ipod. He is three episodes behind me...I am impatiently waiting for him to catch up so we can continue the season!!! As we speak, he is watching some!
The lake house should be ready soon. Emily was suppose to go with us to the lake every weekend, but Mark is allergic to cats, so she will be home. I am hoping my loving neighbor Mrs. Cathy will come over and hang out with her. Yes, we refer to him as her...last time I am going to remind you of our gay cat.
Things that have been accomplished...

  • Kenley ate Crawfish

  • Cole flew on a plane

  • Kenley drove the car, while sitting in my lap around the cul-de-sac.

  • Cole has not driven...at all ;o)
Kenley has her 1st gymnastic competition this Saturday!!!!!

Have a great week, we love you!

I feel like I have not written in forever and that is the truth! April 18th was forever ago! The Benson household is wonderful! We have never been happier! Kenley has been begging for a "baby cat" we have been toying with the idea and the opportunity finally dropped in our lap. Last Thursday we had a meeting for Cole's trip to D.C., one of the families at church brought a basket full of kittens. They were meowing and meowing during the entire meeting. Kenley, of course, looked at me with those big beautiful blue eyes and curly blond hair and said Mommy can "Emily" come home now, yes she has had the name for this "cat" at least a month. So....she did. Garrett has been working in Hobbs, New Mexico and was not home. In other words, I brought another animal home without Garrett's approval. We headed straight to petsmart and got all our kitty's necessities. I took Ms. Emily to the vet today and found out Emily is a BOY! Cole has already been calling Emily Syracuse because that is what he wanted to name it. Kenley will hear nothing of the sort...So our gender challenged kitty is Emily. Garrett came home and of course fell in love with her, I will always refer to her as her...so sorry. She is a great kitty. I really love her. She is super clean with her box and goes outside with us and chills in the backyard, she lets Kenley do whatever and she and the dogs are doing well. She is a bed hopper, one night with Kenley, one night with us, one night with Cole. She is currently laying on my neck while I am typing.

Garrett had his 6 month check up after losing his thyroid...his levels were not right. We knew this because he had been sleeping more than ever. They tripled his medicine and added some vitamin supplements. He is already feeling better. He is, as always, dedicated to his work at Baker Concrete. I am so proud of him.
Cole is getting ready for his first big trip. He is headed to Washington D.C. this Wednesday at 6:00 am. I recruit ted my wonderful father-in-law to take him. Thank you to Gary! We went and got him his first suitcase today and he is excited.

I did have another seizure on April 23, 2010 when I was at home, so I have been diagnosed with Epilepsy. I firmly believe that God is directing my physician's hand and that I will be treated and healed within the next 3 years. There is a very high percentage of people who can be on anti-seizure medication for 3 years and are seizure free can end up not needing medication any longer. So please join in me believing in the power of prayer!

We are patiently awaiting the completion of the Lake House, two more weeks and we will be nowhere to be found on the weekend except the lake.

Kenley is still taking gymnastics on Mondays at The Houston Gymnastic Academy and has her first competition May 15. She is also on The Texas Two-Steppers Show Team at Texas Cheer, so you will find us there every Tuesday night. She almost has her cartwheel and her skills are very impressive. Swimming lessons will start this summer! She finally perfected her bike riding and can keep up with Cole.

I am hoping to start her with horseback riding lessons soon...come on Momma Kellerman.

On a pretty bragging note...We have the greenest grass on the street and I am so thrilled, big thank you to one of my clients who gave me all his secrets one day while purchasing insurance.

I am almost completely done with my Certified Property Manager designation and should have it by June! Yeah! I am so proud of myself! ha!

We had the bathtub refinished and it is so beautiful. If you have an old bathtub look up Bathtub Wizard...it was worth every penny and looks brand new.

For one reason or the other I have been on an organization kick. This house has never been cleaner and more organized, that trickled out to the garage on Sunday. My body hurts in more ways that I knew was possible. I did most of the work by myself, Garrett was fixing the toilet with his Dad, Cole was napping but got up just in time to help me with the really heavy stuff. I have come to the realization that we have too much stuff. We are having a garage sale on Saturday!
