The First Week of School

What a week in the BeNsOn HoUsEhOLd...Kenley had a big week at school, it was her first full week and her classmates are opening up and getting to know each other more and more. They started music class this week with the music teacher at OSL Mr. Armstrong. Kenley loves music and is always beating the drums, usually her fork and knife on the table. The spoon and fork don't work quite as well, so we know she must love this class!

Her Bible verse this week was Psalms 136:3 "Give Thanks to the Lord of Lords. His Love Endures Forever" Her Poem for the week is:

An apple for the teacher...

It's really nothing new...

Except when you remember,

Parents are teachers too!

They learn a poem each weak and add them to their poem notebooks! In science, which they do just about every wednesday, she made a 3 layered float. They combined water, oil and honey and added a coin, grape, and a cork. Kenley told me exactly what happened to each item. The cork floated, the coin sank and the grape stayed. They tasted yellow apples, green apples, and red apples. Kenley's favorite apple is RED!!!!

Kenley got noticed this week for doing a SUPER JOB AT WALKING IN LINE!!! YIPPPEEE!!!!

Cole had his first game this week in Dallas! Kenley and I packed up the car and headed out at noon to get there to ON TIME!!!! We picked up Garrett too ;o) It was a great game! Cole didn't get to play, but that is how it goes when you are a freshman on Varsity. Dallas Lutheran was ranked 4th in State and we beat them! So it was a victory for the Lions! The first 2 games of the season are suppose to be our toughest so he might not get too much action. He handled it well and hopefully he will have a starting position next year and will see some playing time later this season. He has homework every night and is doing awesome so far in school and seems to love it. Even though he does not look happy in this photo!!!!

We all went to the Texans game Saturday! It was tons of fun! Go Texans! We are so excited for the season!
